Really? Are you 12? If so then I can understand. Aside from Ringo they all went out and had not only successful solo careers but also continued to influence other artists and music as a whole. C'mon. Lennon and McCartney obviously did. Harrison was the most under rated. He was the leader of the Traveling Wilbury's(Great Band) and many looked up to him. All things must Pass- Great F'in album.

They make all of Nikons sensors, even the high end D3S and D3X dSLRs ones. They also made (or make?) Canon point and shoot sensors; at least as of a few years ago. Sony was one of the first with backlit CMOS as well.
Oh, and I think Pentax, if you want to consider them a camera compay, uses Sony sensors.

I totally agree with you and I blame the Washington Post for the initial insanity. The headline and article made it sound as if the MacBook was the problem and not the third-party device driver. Obviously, there is a security hole that needs to be addressed by vendors like Apple, but this isn't an Apple hardware problem.

Curious about WWI. The Germans were attacking our merchant vessels and cruise ships with our citizens on them( now granted they were filled with weapons). The Germans were supposed to let the people abandon ship before they sunk it. They didn't do that with the Lusitania and in other cases I believe. So IMHO, WWI was a justified war.

WW1 was another silly European power struggle which we were pulled into. It isn't as if there was any nation I would call the "bad guys" in WW1. It was just a stupid squabble over resources and power.
I think you could make a point that the Civil War was necessary if you want to claim that freeing the slaves was the major motivator behind the war. The way things actually turned out I think things could probably been handled better through political discourse. Rather than spending several years ordering people to murder each other, then "freeing" the slaves and promptly changing the laws so that blacks were basically relegated to a slave state after the war any way...
The revolutionary war was necessary if you assume that the USA being its own sovereign nation is a particularly important thing. This is not a belief to which I subscribe, in my eyes the revolutionary war is more an example of an upstart colony being expected to work with its parent nation and deciding that it didn't feel like it (much like an 8 year old child). The motivations behind our separation from the British empire was basically "we don't want to pay taxes, also were miffed about you selling us tea cheaper than we could buy it from smugglers :confused::confused:".
I only support violent intervention when one side in a conflict has made it abundantly clear that murder and destruction is one of their actual goals. Once Hitler decided that exterminating millions of human beings was a reasonable thing to do I believe he was beyond the point of reasoning.
Basically what I'm saying is that I believe that violence should only ever be used in order to stop others from doing violence. In any other situation war shouldn't even be viewed as a viable option.
Of course this isn't how most humans behave or view the world, we claim that we only use war as a "last resort". But really people are willing to engage in war over silly conflicts which could easily be settled peacefully if people could just learn to behave reasonably :eek:.

Holy moley, you mean it starts downloading cover art without asking or letting you turn that off? I don't want cover art, and I sure as heck don't want to use up bandwidth on my connection for cover art downloads, much less send out reports on what I care to keep in my playlists.

It was only after the WMD charade completely fell apart (I suspect Bush figured they'd find something to tout as proof, didn't happen) that the reasoning was shifted to "spreading democracy" and the atrocities of Saddam were pushed hard. Simply put, the war was built and sold on a complete lie, and it was only after that fell apart it became about human rights and (US interests approved) "democracy".

i was checking most best buy stores in california and only found one store in the state that has 17 in stock...and some stores were out of stock for the high end 15in... pretty sure this can be said for most of the best buy chain
if the refresh doesnt happen this 16 dont see it happening till 2 weeks after the pad and thats a month of lost sales and i doubt apple wants that

Those prices are just crazy... Who the %&## will pay $250-$400 for a Win OS??? Especially since you know you will need additional anti-virus/spyware...
If this is true, M$ just shot themselves in the foot. There are viable OS alternatives today that are both better and cheaper.

Here is what I suspect...
1) If no major case changes, a quiet introduction like today's iMac
2) If a major case and feature change, a "One More Thing"� next week...
3) Perhaps the reason for the delay in introduction is the Meroms are still constrained and Apple wanted them in the iMacs first.
Either way, I'm anticipating them to be introduced soon and I'll be in line as quickly as possible along with many here to buy one.
I agree with 1 definitely. A simple chip upgrade woudn't qualify 2. 3, could be. And I'll be right there in line with you.

i havent had any random shut downs on my blackbook or even had it that hot. i do use smc fan control and leave it at 3303 rpm keeps it at about 52-54

We have seen significant improvements with every ios upgade. There is no doubt that 5 will do great things. I personally would like to see voice to text or voice to email. It would be nice to do when in a pinch for a quick response. Also back to the iPhone 5 rumors. Do you think after last years ***** show that they are really going to leak any rumors out? They are not going to sacrifice sales. They WILL release a new phone in June/July. They cannot afford not too. Once a year is perfect. As for LTE who cares. We won't be able to use it for a while anyway. Let's work on a 3g phone that can consistently make calls first. When I do get service the 3G is plenty fast anyway. I am fine with 2-4 mb/ps. In some areas I'm only a bit over 1 and some Im under 1. That is plenty for what the phone can do now. Again, doing the upgrade in Sep will have a lot of people disappointed. Its all about perception. If they wait, even if a few months unless they announce it at WWDC it will hurt them. Now if they can justify the wait and announce it in June with LTE delivered in Sep they may have a chance. Bottom line 15 months for a phone refresh imo is weak. I just don't personally get the fascination with LTE today. It will be great but we are premature.

Based on scripture I personally believe that while man is definitely capable of "good" due to the fact that he has been created in the image of God, that image has been marred by sin. This leaves man in a "broken" condition and at the core we are selfish by nature. On the contrary, based on scripture, the elohim made man in their own image complete with all their own foibles and traits. It's both sad and sickening to see how many Apple fanboys are elitists who only want Apple products to be sold at upscale stores. Such fanboys want Apple products to be regarded as high-end fashion accessories and status symbols. What a shame that Apple has such a feminized culture associated with it. I miss the days when Apple products were regarded as tools for accomplishing tasks.
I don't know that I would call it feminized, but it certainly seems bratty and petulant. Sell them everywhere! Someone mentioned Starbucks and 7-11... and while they were being douchenozzles about it, I say those sound like great ideas. I don't care if they sell them at hot dog carts in the park... the more places that sell them and the more people that see them the better. When you limit an item to boutique stores, the items get a stigma of being posh and elitist... that is NOT how you move tons of product.

I just bought a used 160GB iPod Classic last week. Having my entire music library in my car at all times: Priceless.
same thing here, but replace weeks with months.
i wish they'd come out with a cheaper deal made to interface with car stereos that has no screen, but hundreds of gigs of space. no inputs even. just a rest button and usb connector.
