Hi ,
I'm looking for university professor/asst professor/lecturer job whereby university can sponsor h1b.If anybody can point me to universities which sponsor h1b in/near bay area ,it would be great. the local community colleges does not seem to sponsor h1b.

I filed I-485 in July 2007 through my employer (EB3 with Priority date - 02/2004) and my wife filed her I-485 adjustment of status at the same time. We don't have our H-1 visas anymore and using EAD & AP for employment and travel.
We want to adopt a child in India as Inter-country adoption (as a Indian resident). For this, my wife have to travel to India and stay with the child for two years from the date of guardianship.
As there is no Green Card in sight for EB-3:
1. If she stays in India for two years, will it affect her I-485 application? If yes, how can we avoid that - like travel back to US once in a while etc.
2. As per US Immigration law, the parent(s) has to stay with the adoptive child for two years. Assuming that my wife stays with the child for 2 years in India, will the child get a visa so that we can bring the child to US? or do we need to file a I-485 for the child? What happens if my GC is approved within that 2 year period? Can we still bring the child to US? On what type of visa/status?
Appreciate any help in this regard.

Some of may think "Wait for the actual letter to come" but I feel too nervous and just want to share my thoughts. I applied for EB5 and my I526 was approved. Then I applied adjustment of status and got an I485 RFE. Have not got the letter yet but got the email that my case is on hold right now. Can you tell me about the RFE? Is that common? Is that the first step of denial? I'm so nervous right now. I will write what they are asking when I got the letter which I'm expecting on Tuesday or Wednesday. Thank you very much.

Its not advisable. The DOS has designated a few consulates in Mexico and Canada for third country nationals. Its best to stick to those recommendations, or go to your home country. Visa stamping is a stressful experience to bgin with, why take chances ?

If the non-profit that she plans on working for is (a) affiliated with an institute of higher education; or (b) a research organization;
then she should not be subject to the cap. Otherwise, the non-profit probably is subject to the H-1B cap, so she couldn't start until October 1.

Hi .. I am on L1 with my current employer. I applied H1B through a consultancy and my petition got approved. My current employer told me that they can transfer my approved H1B to them. Is it really possible to transfer H1B to my current employer, just by having the approved petition?

I received the below advice from an attorney in another forum.
"Make the CIS aware of your approved I-130 and ask that they approve your AOS on that basis. Send a copy of the I-130 approval notice, together with a copy of the I-485 receipt notice to the correspondence address shown on the lower left side of the receipt notice."
According to that attorney, it looks like I can interfile I-140 with I-130. Any thoughts/comments on this?

In 2005 I was let go from my job; I filed for unemployment and I traveld to Asia working part time as writer and looking for a new job and find new places to write about in my book;
the trip lasted 5 months,
I attached my taxes for the last 5 years to the application:
will CIS look at the taxes for 2005 and look at the unemployment benefits together with my international travel?
AM I in trouble when I show up for the interview? I am concerned

That's great news - IV's efforts are paying off now. Not sure if they give two years for all EAD's applications (either renewal or new) that are currently pending. Now I wish my application will get a bit delayed in processing :)

There is a serious risk for the Democrats in forcing their members to vote
down an amnesty bill. That would undoubtedly alienate one of their core
voter constituencies.
If the SAVE bill passes, the likely result is that support for legal immigration reform will increase substantially. A number of members of Congress have said that they support legal immigration reform, but first want to see new enforcement measures put into place"

We need diagnosis code and billed amount for each of these codes. Does any one know what is the diagnosis code for preventive care visit? How do we get the billed amt for these codes ? Any nurses can help us here.
