I have seen in many forums and even heard from a friend who sponsored his parents with the Original Certificate.

I will be sponsoring US visitor's visa for my parents. They will be going to Kolkata consulate for visa interview. I believe my parents need to carry my Birth Certificate along with other documents for the interview. Do they need to carry my original birth certificate or copy of my birth certifcate is fine.

Attended 485 Interview yesterday, everything went fine, the office told me that they need 120 days to review the file and will inform the decision after that. For me it looks like he basically collected all the documentation from me and will forward them to the Supervisor.

I strongly fell you should get it fixed. Any how you have good Priority date after correction. If they dont correct then you are still lucky :)

To my knowledge they consider the salary you were getting in the last one year to calculate UI benefits. If you are applying one year after the job loss, chances that you get anything is very low.
Anybody who is eligible to work in US and has enough work credit can apply for unemployment insurance benefits. I think, USCIS will know about this but sending RFE to people about this is not feasible.

I got LC and 140 approved in EB3. Now I refile my labor Cert in EB2 (IT manager) via PERM. Anybody has the same experience and know approximately processing time for this PERM to be approved. Thanks for any information.

I was advised by my lawyer that entering on h1 does not affect a pending 485 AOS application.
So I entered on H1.
No issues encountered.

This is Krishna doing Master's Tennessee State University as a full time student. My I-20 got expired on 12-17-08 but I noticed on 01-02-09. My International advisor told me that I am out of status and I need to apply for reinstatement to USCIS and I am not eligible to work. The process takes 60-120 days. My questions are
1) Do they approve this kind of applications?
2) I will get a case number after applying USCIS. Am I eligible to work (I am working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant) once I get the case number? Or Do I need to wait until the case resolved?
The mistake was done because I was planning to graduate in December and I filled the intend to graduate form too. But it got delayed as I didn't have enough data and I was busy in working on my thesis and research in November and December.
Please help me with this issue.

The first status is that USCIS has approved your EAD and ordered for a card. The second status means that they mailed you the card. You should get the card in next 5 business days.

I am getting ready to apply for my wife's AOS (ROW). She has never used a last name on any legal documents, example birth certificate, passport.
Her H4 visa was processed with "FNU" - family name unknown .. Do I need a last name for filing her I-485? Can she get a GC with only her first name on it?
Or will they process it with FNU as last name...
Should i go to her embassy (Indonesia) and get her passport changed to my last name before applying for her 485? In that event, her H4 visa,passport and birth certificate will not match her passport..
Any thoughts on my situation?
I guess, nobody really knows the answer. If she does not have a last name and all she uses is her first name, it should be alright. Since all her legal documents- Birth certificate, Passport, DL, Bank Statements have this legal first name only. If she now wants to use your family, last name after getting married, that could also be done. You should really consult your lawyer on this one. My AOS was denied few months 4 months ago after I switched using AC21. Since my current employer has their own attorney (Pappas Lenzo in Boston) they filed for MTR and it is still pending. I was on my H1 which will expire in another 2 months. The attorneys are saying it takes time for MTR to be successful. But was not sure it would take this long.
Anyone has experience who filed I-485 MTR and it was successfull through this attorney.
